The Virginia Commonwealth University Research Institute for Social Equity (RISE) within The L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs is a national leader in advancing racial equity and informing public policy and governance for marginalized voices.

The Institute’s web presence had previously been represented as a page within the larger Wilder School website. With four major focus areas and policy solutions at work, it was time for a dedicated website that could highlight news, people and the latest scholarly publications.

RISE had an existing look that the clients wanted to incorporate into a modern new website. Driving home the distinction between four focus areas was a key goal in ensuring users could quickly access information and get an overview of the Institute’s work.

Working within VCU’s Terminalfour content management system, our developers focused on dynamic features that would allow news and articles to automatically feed to the homepage and internal template options that could grow along with the Institute.
